Bore Water Treatment

Make your bore water safe to drink — sediment, iron and UV treatment

Bore water is common on rural properties and lifestyle blocks across Auckland and the Waikato. While it is a great independent water source, untreated bore water can contain sediment, iron, manganese, hardness and bacteria. The Pump Warehouse assesses your bore water and designs a treatment system that makes it safe and pleasant for drinking and everyday use. Free advice on 0800 473 414.

What is in bore water?

Every bore is different. Common issues we treat include sediment and turbidity (cloudy water), iron and manganese (staining and metallic taste), hardness (scale build-up), and bacteria or other micro-organisms. A water test is the best first step — it tells us exactly what needs treating so you are not paying for equipment you do not need. Learn more in our Water Contaminants Guide.

A typical bore water treatment system

Most bore water systems combine three stages: sediment filtration to remove particles, specialised media to remove iron, manganese or hardness where needed, and UV sterilisation to kill bacteria. We size and stage each system to your specific water quality and household demand, and install it properly with a workmanship guarantee.

Bore pumps too

As well as treatment, we supply, install and repair the bore pumps that bring your water to the surface. Whether you need a new submersible bore pump or a repair on an existing one, our technicians can help. See our pump services or browse bore pumps online.
